In a toothed belt including at least one positioning-aiding/position-identifying tooth and a large number of driven teeth engageable with a driving toothed pulley, the positioning-aiding/position-identifying tooth is formed in a predetermined positioning area of the toothed belt and has a different shape from that of each of the driven teeth. The total amount of rubber used in the positioning-aiding/position-identifying tooth is set to equal an assumptive total amount of rubber in one or more imaginary driven teeth that could be formed in the predetermined positioning area if the positioning-aiding/position-identifying tooth was not formed in that area, and the amount of backing rubber used in a portion right behind the positioning-aiding/position-identifying tooth is set to be equal to or greater than an assumptive amount of backing in a portion right behind the imaginary driven teeth.

In einem gezahnten Riemen einschließlich mindestens einen positioning-aiding/position-identifying Zahn und viele gefahrene Zähne, die mit einer treibenden gezahnten Riemenscheibe engageable sind, wird der positioning-aiding/position-identifying Zahn in einem vorbestimmten in Position bringenbereich des gezahnten Riemens gebildet und eine andere Form von dem von jedem der gefahrenen Zähne hat. Die Gesamtmenge des Gummis verwendet im positioning-aiding/position-identifying Zahn wird eingestellt, um einer assumptive Gesamtmenge Gummi in einem oder mehr eingebildeten gefahrenen Zähnen zu entsprechen, die im vorbestimmten in Position bringenbereich gebildet werden konnten, wenn der positioning-aiding/position-identifying Zahn nicht dadurch gebildet wurde, daß Bereich und die Menge des Schutzträgergummis benutzt in einem Teilrecht hinter dem positioning-aiding/position-identifying Zahn eingestellt wird, um als einer assumptive Menge des Zurückziehens in einem Teilrecht hinter den eingebildeten gefahrenen Zähnen gleich oder grösser zu sein.
