A method for preventing fungal diseases in crops which comprises the steps of: (a) applying to a crop an aqueous or a non-aqueous spray composition which includes a pesticide and a spray adjuvant including a solvent and an emulsifier, wherein the solvent is a mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons having a distillation range of about 520 to 600.degree. F. and an aromatic content of about 1% or less, or the solvent is a single or combination of C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 fatty alcohol(s); and (b) applying chlorothalonil to the crop previously to, simultaneously with, or subsequently to the application of the aqueous spray composition, wherein phytotoxicity associated with the application of chlorothalonil is reduced or eliminated.

Une méthode pour empêcher les maladies fongiques dans les récoltes comporte dont les étapes : (a) appliquant une récolte à une composition aqueuse ou non aqueuse en jet qui inclut un pesticide et un adjuvant de jet comprenant un dissolvant et un émulsifiant, où le dissolvant est un mélange des hydrocarbures aliphatiques ayant une gamme de distillation environ de 520 à 600.degree. Le F. et une teneur aromatique environ de 1% ou moins, ou le dissolvant est un célibataire ou une combinaison de C.sub.6 - l'alcohol(s) C.sub.18 gras ; et (b) s'appliquant le chlorothalonil à la récolte précédemment, simultanément avec, ou plus tard à l'application de composition aqueuse de jet, où la phytotoxicité liée à l'application du chlorothalonil est réduite ou éliminée.
