A polylactide in a purified state, which meets the requirements of the color strengths of reference solutions B.sub.2 -B.sub.9 of the brown color test of the European Pharmacopoeia, 2nd Edition (1980) part I, Section V, 6.2 and containing one or more metals in cationic form, the metal ion(s) having a concentration of at most 10 ppm. The polylactide is especially suitable for use as microparticles or implants, and contains preferably a hydrophilic drug, like octreotide or a lipophilic drug like bromocriptine.

Ein polylactide in einem gereinigten Zustand, der den Anforderungen der Farbe Stärken der Bezugslösungen B.sub.2 - B.sub.9 des braunen Farbe Tests des europäischen Arzneibuchs, 2. Edition (1980) Teil I, Abschnitt V, 6.2 und Enthalten ein oder mehr Metalle in der kationischen Form, das Metallion(s) entspricht, das eine Konzentration von höchstens 10 PPMS hat. Das polylactide ist für Gebrauch als Mikroteilchen oder Implantate besonders verwendbar und enthält vorzugsweise eine hydrophile Droge, wie octreotide oder eine lipophile Droge wie bromocriptine.
