Water-soluble monoazo dyes, their preparation and use Dyes of the formula

in which
M is hydrogen, ammonium, an alkali metal or the equivalent of an alkaline
earth metal;
X is sulfonyl or --COCH.sub.2 O--;
R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are hydrogen,
halogen, for example fluorine, chlorine or bromine, unsubstituted or
chloro- or hydroxy-substituted C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkoxy, for example
2-chloroethoxy or 2-hydroxyethoxy, and the sulfo group is in position 3 or
4 to the NH group, their preparation, and their use for dyeing or printing
carboxamido-containing materials.
Tintes monoazoicos solubles en agua, su preparación y tintes del uso del fórmula (1): ## del ## STR1 en qué M es hidrógeno, amonio, un metal alcalino o el equivalente de un alkaline-earth-metal; X es sulfonyl o -- el --; R.sup.1, R.sup.2 y R.sup.3 de COCH.sub.2 O de uno otro es independientemente hidrógeno, halógeno, por ejemplo flúor, clorina o bromo, C.sub.1 sin sustituir o cloro o hydroxy-substituido a C.sub.4 alkoxy, por ejemplo 2-chloroethoxy o 2-hydroxyethoxy, y el grupo del sulfo está en la posición 3 o 4 al grupo del NH, a su preparación, y a su uso para teñir o imprimir los materiales carboxamido-que contienen.
