A method for providing a pre-paid telephone calling card services to a calling party initiating a voice-based connection to a called party telephone using an internet-based IP Phone process running on a personal computer. The method comprises initiating an A-leg connection between the IP Phone process and an internet gateway utilizing a computer network connecting the personal computer and the internet Gateway, establishing a telephone connection between the internet gateway and a SCP. Once this connection is established, the SCP transmits a request to the calling party through the IP Phone process to provide account and call information. The calling party responds with the requested account and call information using the IP Phone process. The internet gateway then transmits the information to the SCP using DTMF tones. The SCP responds by transmitting an account query from the SCP to verify account and balance information for the calling party. If the account data is successfully verified, a B-leg connection is established between the SCP and the called party telephone and the A-leg and B-leg connections are connected in order to establish the voice-based connection between the calling party and the called party telephone.

Eine Methode für das Zur Verfügung stellen eine der pre-paid Telefonanruf-Karte Dienstleistungen zu einer benennenden Partei, die einen Stimme-gegründeten Anschluß zu einem benannten Parteitelefon mit einem Internet-gegründeten IP Telefon Prozeßbetrieb auf PC einleitet. Die Methode enthält das Einleiten eines Ein-Bein Anschlußes zwischen dem IP Telefonprozeß und einer Internet-Einfahrt, die ein Computernetz verwenden, das PC anschließt und der Internet Einfahrt und stellt eine Fernsprechverbindung zwischen der Internet-Einfahrt und einem SCP her. Sobald dieser Anschluß hergestellt wird, mittelt das SCP einen Antrag der benennenden Partei durch den IP Telefonprozeß über, Konto zur Verfügung zu stellen und Informationen zu benennen. Die benennende Partei reagiert mit dem erbetenen Konto und den Anrufinformationen mit dem IP Telefonprozeß. Die Internet-Einfahrt mittelt dann die Informationen dem SCP mit DTMF Tönen über. Das SCP reagiert, indem es eine Kontofrage vom SCP überträgt, um Konto und Balance Informationen für die benennende Partei zu überprüfen. Wenn die Kontodaten erfolgreich überprüft werden, wird ein B-Bein Anschluß zwischen dem SCP hergestellt und dem benannten Parteitelefon und den Ein-Bein und B-Bein Anschlüssen werden angeschlossen, um den Stimme-gegründeten Anschluß zwischen der benennenden Partei und dem benannten Parteitelefon herzustellen.
