This invention provides compounds of Formula I having the structure ##STR1## wherein A, B, Z, R and R.sup.1 are as defined hereinbefore, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which are useful in treating or inhibiting metabolic disorders related to insulin resistance or hyperglycemia (typically associated with obesity or glucose intolerance), atherosclerosis, gastrointestinal disorders, neurogenetic inflammation, glaucoma, ocular hypertension and frequent urination; and are particularly useful in the treatment or inhibition of type II diabetes.

Deze uitvinding verstrekt samenstellingen van Formule I die de structuur ## STR1 ## waarin A, B, Z, R en R.sup.1 zoals hierboven bepaald zijn heeft, of een farmaceutisch aanvaardbaar zout daarvan, die in het behandelen van of het remmen van metabolische wanorde met betrekking tot insulineweerstand of hyperglycemia (typisch verbonden aan zwaarlijvigheid of glucoseonverdraagzaamheid), atherosclerose, gastro-intestinale wanorde, neurogenetic ontsteking, glaucoom, oculaire hypertensie en frequente urination nuttig zijn; en zijn bijzonder nuttig in de behandeling of de remming van type II diabetes.
