A ceramic honeycomb structure (1) constituted by cell walls (ribs) (2)
forming a composite structure from a plurality of cells (3) being adjacent
each other and a honeycomb outer wall (4) surrounding and holding the
outermost peripheral cells located at the circumference of the composite
structure; said composite structure satisfying the followings:
the basic thickness of the cell walls (2) (the basic cell wall thickness)
(Tc) is Tc.ltoreq.0.12 mm, the outer wall thickness (Ts) of the honeycomb
structure is Ts.gtoreq.0.05 mm, and the open frontal area (P) is
P.gtoreq.80%, and there is a relation shown by formula:
1.10.ltoreq.(Tr.sub.1.about.Tr.sub.3-20)/Tc.ltoreq.3.00
between the basic cell wall thickness (Tc) and each cell wall thickness
(Tr.sub.1.about.Tr.sub.3-20) of cells existing between an outermost
peripheral cell and any cell within a first end cell from a third cell to
a twentieth cell extending inwardly, taking the outermost peripheral cell
as a first starting cell.
Una estructura de cerámica del panal (1) constituyó por las paredes de célula (costillas) (2) que formaban una estructura compuesta de una pluralidad de células (3) que eran adyacentes y una pared externa del panal (4) que rodeaba y que llevaba a cabo las células periféricas exteriores situadas en la circunferencia de la estructura compuesta; estructura compuesta dicha que satisface los followings: el grueso básico de las paredes de célula que (2) (el grueso de pared básico de célula) (Tc) es Tc.ltoreq.0.12 milímetro, el grueso de pared externo (ts) de la estructura del panal es Ts.gtoreq.0.05 milímetro, y el área frontal abierta (p) es el P.gtoreq.80%, y hay una relación demostrada por fórmula: 1.10.ltoreq.(Tr.sub.1.about.Tr.sub.3-20)/Tc.ltoreq.3.00 entre el grueso de pared básico de célula (Tc) y cada grueso de pared de célula (Tr.sub.1.about.Tr.sub.3-20) de las células que existen entre una célula periférica exterior y cualquier célula dentro de una primera célula del extremo de una tercera célula a una vigésima célula que extiende interno, tomando la célula periférica exterior como primera célula que comienza.
