Photostable, silylated benzotriazole compounds of formula (I) or (II) ##STR1## where at least one of E.sub.1, E.sub.2, E.sub.5, E.sub.8, E.sub.9, G.sub.2 and G.sub.7 is a silylated group; and G.sub.2 and/or G.sub.7 is an electron withdrawing moiety or E.sub.1 is .alpha.-cumyl, are both photostable and particularly compatible in high performance coatings such as organopolysiloxanes.

Photostable, compostos silylated do benzotriazole da fórmula (I) ou (ii) ## do ## STR1 onde ao menos um de E.sub.1, E.sub.2, E.sub.5, E.sub.8, E.sub.9, G.sub.2 e G.sub.7 é um grupo silylated; e G.sub.2 e/ou G.sub.7 são um elétron que retira o moiety ou E.sub.1 é alpha.-cumyl, é photostable e particularmente compatível em revestimentos do desempenho elevado tais como organopolysiloxanes.
