Toughened biaxially oriented polyamide films prepared by dry blending i) a polyamide homopolymer, copolymer, or blends thereof; and ii) a functionalized polyolefin terpolymer comprising maleic anhydride, ethyl acrylate, and an olefin, to thereby form a dry mixture. The dry mixture is melted to form a polymer blend, which is then formed into a polymer film. The edges of the film are pinned to a casting roll, and the film is plasticized in at least one water bath. The polymer film is subsequently biaxially oriented. The result is a toughened biaxially oriented film which is resistant to pinholes, cracks, and other structural defects. Such films are particularly suited for making packaging materials for various food products.

Abgehärtete zweiachsig orientierte Polyamidfilme bereiteten sich durch trockenes vor, i) ein Polyamidhomopolymeren, -copolymer oder -mischungen davon mischend; und II) functionalized a das Polyolefinterpolymer, das bösartiges Anhydrid, Ethylacrylat und ein Olefin enthält, um eine trockene Mischung dadurch zu bilden. Die trockene Mischung wird geschmolzen, um eine Polymer-Plastik Mischung zu bilden, die dann in einen Polymer-Plastik Film gebildet wird. Die Ränder des Filmes werden zu einer Gußteilrolle festgesteckt, und der Film wird in mindestens einem Wasserbad plastifiziert. Der Polymer-Plastik Film wird nachher zweiachsig orientiert. Das Resultat ist ein abgehärteter zweiachsig orientierter Film, der gegen Splintlöcher, Sprünge und andere strukturelle Defekte beständig ist. Solche Filme werden besonders für das Bilden der Verpackenmaterialien für verschiedene Nahrungsmittel entsprochen.
