Disclosed are (1) a polarizer having a function of separating incident
light into polarized light through reflection and transmission, which has
(a) a haze of 10% or less, or (b) a ratio of parallel transmitted light to
incident light of 40 to 60%, (c) a ratio of mirror reflected light to the
incident light of 25% or more, (d) a ratio of diffusion reflected light to
the incident light of 20% or less or (e) a fraction of mirror reflected
light to the whole reflected light of 60% or more; (2) an optical element
comprising the polarizer, and a 1/4 wavelength formed by one or two or
more retardation layers disposed on at least one side thereof; (3) a
lighting device comprising a surface light source, and the polarizer or
the optical element disposed thereon; and (4) a liquid crystal display
comprising the lighting device and a liquid crystal cell arranged on the
light outgoing side thereof, with a polarizing plate intervening
therebetween.
Worden (1) gegeben ein Polarisator frei, der eine Funktion des Trennens des Ereignislichtes in polarisiertes Licht durch Reflexion hat und Getriebe, das (a) einen Dunst von 10% oder kleiner hat, oder (b) ein Verhältnis des parallelen übertragenen Lichtes zum Ereignislicht von 40 bis 60%, (c) ein Verhältnis des Spiegels teilten Licht an das Ereignislicht von 25% oder mehr mit, (d) teilten ein Verhältnis der Diffusion (Zerstäubung) Licht an das Ereignislicht von 20% mit, oder kleiner oder (e) ein Bruch des Spiegels reflektierte Licht zum Ganzes reflektierten Licht von 60% oder mehr; (2) bildeten sich ein optisches Element, das den Polarisator enthalten, und eine 1/4 Wellenlänge durch ein oder zwei oder mehr Verlangsamungschichten, die auf mindestens einer Seite davon abgeschaffen wurden; (3) schufen eine Beleuchtungvorrichtung, die eine Oberflächenlichtquelle enthalten, und der Polarisator oder das optische Element darauf ab; und (4) therebetween eine Flüssigkristallanzeige, welche die Beleuchtungvorrichtung und eine flüssige Kristallzelle geordnet wird auf der hellen abgehenden Seite davon enthält, wenn eine polarisierenplatte eingreift.
