An apparatus and method to estimate the condition amount of a vehicle tire
in a vehicle equipped with vehicle wheels formed with air enclosed under
pressure in an inside portion of a tire mounted to a disc wheel. A
plurality of wheel speed sensors detect the vehicle speed of each vehicle
wheel. An estimating unit obtains a reflected value reflecting the tire
condition amount of a vehicle wheel based on the vehicle wheel speed, and
estimates the tire condition based upon the reflected value. The
estimating unit estimates a reflected value for a first vehicle wheel
which is difficult to accurately obtain the reflected value based on the
vehicle wheel speed by obtaining the reflected value for a second vehicle
wheel which is easier to accurately obtain the reflected value based on
the wheel speed.
