The invention provides improvements in the field of animal models for
testing effects of genes introduced into animal cells or tissue by
adenoviral gene transfer. More particularly the invention provides a
plasmid construct that expresses a porcine adenovirus receptor (pCAR) and
transgenic animals that show expression of pCAR.
