A photothermographic material comprising a photosensitive silver halide, a
reducible silver salt, a phenolic reducing agent, a binder and a compound
represented by the following formula on the same surface of a support:

wherein X.sup.1 is a substituent, X.sup.2 to X.sup.4 are a hydrogen atom or
a substituent, and R.sup.1 is an alkyl group etc. The photothermographic
material shows high sensitivity, high Dmax and low fog and can provide
images suitable for use in photomechanical process.
Ein photothermographic Material, das ein lichtempfindliches Silberhalogenid, ein reduzierbares silbernes Salz, ein phenoplastisches Reduktionsmittel, eine Mappe und ein Mittel dargestellt durch die folgende Formel auf der gleichen Oberfläche einer Unterstützung enthält: ## STR1 ## worin X.sup.1 ein Substituent ist, sind X.sup.2 zu X.sup.4 ein Wasserstoffatom oder ein Substituent, und R.sup.1 ist eine Alkylgruppe usw.. Das photothermographic Material zeigt hohe Empfindlichkeit, hohes Dmax und niedrigen Nebel und kann die Bilder zur Verfügung stellen, die für Gebrauch im photomechanical Prozeß verwendbar sind.
