A system for maintaining network information. The system resides in a
network comprising a plurality of sub-networks in communication with one
another over a communications backbone. Each sub-network has a router for
use in performing communications with other sub-networks. A directory
service is linked to the communications backbone and includes a database.
The database stores router attribute information that is published by
each of the routers. Using a query engine associated with the directory
service, meaningful information can be gathered from the database as a
function of specified router attribute information.
Un sistema per le informazioni effettuanti della rete. Il sistema risiede in una rete che contiene una pluralità i sub-networks nella comunicazione tra loro sopra una base di comunicazioni. Ogni sub-network ha un router per uso nell'effettuazione delle comunicazioni con altri sub-networks. Un servizio dell'indice è collegato alla base di comunicazioni ed include una base di dati. La base di dati memorizza le informazioni di attributo del router che sono pubblicate da ciascuno dei routers. Per mezzo di un motore di domanda connesso con il servizio dell'indice, le informazioni espressive possono essere riunite dalla base di dati in funzione delle informazioni di attributo specificate del router.
