A catalyst for bulk polymerization comprising an organometallic compound
represented by specified formula and a thiol is provided. The specified
organometallic compound is a metallocene compound such as titanocene or
zirconocene. The use of this bulk polymerization catalyst comprising a
metallocene compound and a thiol enables stable bulk polymerization of a
polymerizable unsaturated compound such as an acrylic monomer, the
reaction control of which has been difficult in the bulk polymerization of
the prior art.
