An integrated OLED display and touch screen is made by the steps of:
providing a substrate; forming a top-emitting OLED display on the
substrate, the display including light blocking circuit elements extending
to an edge of the substrate; providing a transparent encapsulating cover;
forming a touch screen on a first side of the transparent encapsulating
cover, the touch screen having light blocking circuit elements extending
to a corresponding edge of the transparent encapsulating cover; locating
the encapsulating cover over the substrate with a light curable adhesive
located between the light blocking circuit elements of the display and the
touch screen; and curing the light curable adhesive to hermetically
encapsulate the OLED display.
