Thrusters in communication with a feedback control system are provided
on a cylindrical offshore marine member, such as a spar, for reducing and/or controlling
vortex-induced-vibrations, low-frequency drift oscillations due to random waves,
and low-frequency wind induced resonant oscillations. The thrusters are provided
thrust instruction from the feedback control system based on marine member displacement
and current velocity.
