The present invention relates to aliphatic oligocarbonate polyols prepared by
the transesterification of organic carbonates with aliphatic polyols in the presence
of at least one catalyst which contains i) at least one rare earth metal or compounds
thereof or ii) at least one metal of group III B of the periodic table of the elements
or compounds thereof or iii) mixtures of i) and ii) and to a process for preparing
the same.
