A hazard warning device for highway use includes a set of self-contained, micro-processor
controlled studs, each stud incorporating a rechargeable battery and/or capacitor,
the studs being capable, when deployed and activated, of emitting a hazard warning
light, and, when not deployed, housed in a charger case stored and transported
in a road vehicle and rechargeable from the vehicle's electric system, each stud
incorporating contact pins for recharging.
