In an organic luminescence device formed of one or plural layers of organic films
between an anode and a cathode, at least one layer is any one of a luminescence
layer, an electron injection layer and an electron-transporting layer and is formed
of at least a phenolic derivative of any one of formulas (1-a), (1-b), (2-a) and
(2-b) characterized by having at least two phenoxide portions connected to each
other via a specific divalent bond in its molecular structure. By the use of the
phenolic derivative, the resultant organic luminescence device produces a high-luminance
fluorescent luminescence at a low voltage for a long period of time.
