A novel pyrrole derivative represented by the following formula (1) and a salt thereof: ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 means substituted alkenyl, etc.; R.sup.2 means substituted benzoyl, etc.; and R.sup.3 to R.sup.5 each means hydrogen, alkyl, halogeno, etc. The derivative and salt have antidiabetic activity.
