A dielectric ceramic composition contains a substance represented by
general formula
100(Ba.sub.1-xCa.sub.x).sub.mTiO.sub.3+aMnO+bCuO+cRO.sub.n (wherein the
coefficients 100, a, b, and c each represent mols; R represents at least
one element selected from the group consisting of Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm,
Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu; and n represents a number
determined by the valence of the rare-earth element R and is a positive
number required for maintaining electroneutrality) and a sintering aid.
The dielectric ceramic composition satisfies the relationships
0.990.ltoreq.m.ltoreq.1.050; 0.01.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.20;
0.5.ltoreq.a.ltoreq.3.5; 0.1.ltoreq.b.ltoreq.5.0; and
10.ltoreq.c.ltoreq.20, and the amount of the sintering aid represented by
d in terms of parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the compound
represented by (Ba.sub.1-xCa.sub.x).sub.mTiO.sub.3 satisfies
0.8.ltoreq.d.ltoreq.5.0 Furthermore, VO.sub.3/2 may be added to increase
the breakdown field.
