The invention relates to a display device and a method of driving a
display device, wherein the display comprises a plurality of light
emitting elements and means for applying a driving signal to the light
emitting elements. The display device comprises control means for
adjusting a duty cycle and a magnitude of the driving signal for at least
one of the light emitting elements. In this way the uniformity of the
display can be controlled while keeping the brightness of the display
constant. Control of the uniformity of the display may e.g. be used in
relation to control of the power consumption of the display device or
improving the quality of dark images.
