A card set including a plurality of letter or number development cards.
Each card includes opposed instruction and challenge sides. Each
instruction side has instruction indicia relating to the writing of a
particular letter or number associated with the card. Each challenge side
has visual indicia which indirectly identifies the particular letter or
number and cues the user to write the particular letter or number. The
challenge side of the card lacks any indicia that directly identifies
which particular letter or number is associated with the card.
