The rating region table includes a version number field defining a version number of the rating region table which increments by 1 modulo 32 when any field in the rating region table changes, and an extended version number field defining an extended version number which specifies a number of times the version number of the rating region table. A combination of the version number and the extended version number indicates a total number of changes made in the rating region table, and it can be used by the digital television receiver when determining whether the rating region table is a newly-updated table. The extended version number field may be included in a table ID extension field within the rating region table which serves to establish uniqueness of the rating region table.
