The present invention provides compounds having formula (I) or (II): ##STR00001## and pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof, wherein m, p, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are as described generally and in classes and subclasses herein, and additionally provides pharmaceutical compositions thereof, and methods for the use thereof for the treatment of any of a number of diseases, disorders or conditions associated with HGF/SF or other cytokine activity.
