The subject invention relates to a new method for manufacturing extrusion
die tools that eliminates the step of hardening the steel after cutting
the steel to form the desired extrusion die tool design. The new method
involves the steps of cutting and finishing steel to form the desired
extrusion die tool design, coating the die tool, or parts thereof, and
hardening the coated die tool. The new method for manufacturing extrusion
die tools reduces the time and the cost involved in their manufacture.
