Temporary wet strength additives, more particularly, temporary wet strength additives comprising a polymer backbone, wherein the polymer backbone has an internal homo-crosslinking monomeric unit, a co-crosslinking monomeric unit and a cationic monomeric unit, wherein the homo-crosslinking monomeric unit is derived from a monomer having the following structure: ##STR00001## and X is --O--,--NH--, or --NCH.sub.3--; and R.sub.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic groups; and Y.sub.3 is --H, --CH.sub.3, or a halogen, fibrous structures including such temporary wet strength additives, sanitary tissue products containing such fibrous structures and processes for making such fibrous structures and/or such sanitary tissue product are provided.
