This invention is a stent that is inserted into the parent vessel of an
aneurysm in order to reduce blood flow to the aneurysm and promote
embolization of the aneurysm. The stent wall includes an inner structure
that can be expanded from a compressed state to a resilient expanded
state and an outer flexible layer that covers all or part of the inner
structure. Embolic members are placed and retained in the gap between the
inner structure and the outer layer in the area of the aneurysm neck in
order to reduce blood flow to the aneurysm.
