A liquid crystal composition including a liquid crystal and at least three anthraquinone dyes, at least two of the anthraquinone dyes having a substituent represented by the following Formula (I): ##STR00001## wherein in Formula (I), * represents a linking position; R.sup.25 and R.sup.26 each independently represent an alkyl group, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group; R.sup.27 represents an alkyl group, an acyl group or an alkoxy group; R.sup.28 and R.sup.29 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a substitutent; T.sup.1 represents an arylene group or a heteroarylene group; Z represents an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or a carbonyl group; m represents an integer of 0 to 2; and i represents 0 or 1, wherein when i is 1 and Z is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, R.sup.27 is not an alkoxy group, and when i is 1 and Z is a carbonyl group, R.sup.27 is not an acyl group.
