A stack of sheet-type objects are bundled while supported on a support
plate. A banding strip is guided in a channel formed in the plate. The
support plate can be pushed through a shaft that is formed by a pair of
spaced sidewalls. A tongue is displaceable between an extended position,
in which it separates the channel from the surface of the supporting
plate, and a withdrawn position in which the channel is placed in an open
position with respect to the surface of the supporting plate. A spring is
used to hold the banding strip in contact with an underside of the stack
of sheet-type objects.
