A method of determining a camshaft position. The method comprises determining
temperatures,
measuring camshaft deviations, and determining a camshaft deviation gradient. Embodiments
of the invention may also take the form of a camshaft position temperature compensation
system having a memory, a gradient processing module, a temperature sensor, a camshaft
position sensor, and an approximation module.
