A composition comprising extract of one or more plants of one or more of the following plant families: Cissus, Vermonia and Brillantasia. Such compositions have beneficial activity principally in controlling light gain and obesity, especially in conjunction with chitosan or a chitosan derivative and an antioxidant such as vitamin C.
