In the diversion chamber there is provided a deflecting wall that is oriented substantially transversely to the direction of flow of the material entering the diversion chamber via the ascending pipeline branch.

De uitvinding brengt met een apparaat voor behandeling van materiaal, vooral voor thermische en/of chemische behandeling, die een stijgende pijpleidingstak heeft, een afleidingsactiekamer en minstens één dalende pijpleidingstak met elkaar in verband.
