A system and method for reducing the collection of debris in a fluid
pumping system. The system and method may be used in pools, spas, or other
applications in which fluids are circulated through a fluid-containing
vessel. The system includes a first pump that circulates fluid. A screen
is coupled to the input of the first pump and acts to prevent debris from
reaching the first pump. A second pump may be used to remove debris from
the screen.
