A low-temperature fuel cell assembly including of a low-temperature fuel
cell (1) in combination with a sweeping gas circuit (2) for at least the
anode part thereof. The fuel gas is prepared by filtering via a
semi-permeable wall (5) and the yield from this process is increased by
employing sweeping gas. This sweeping gas is obtained by producing it in
the sweeping gas circuit (2). During operation some of the sweeping gas is
continuously discharged and fresh sweeping gas is continuously produced.
With this arrangement it is possible to use hydrogen as fuel gas. Sweeping
gas is obtained by injecting air (8) and combusting (9) the oxygen
contained therein with hydrogen. It is also possible to perform a
methanisation reaction starting from hydrogen as fuel gas by providing
CO/CO.sub.2 as a result of which the sweeping gas is methane.
De assemblage van de brandstofcel omvatten het bij lage temperatuur van een brandstofcel bij lage temperatuur (1) in combinatie met een vegende gaskring (2) voor minstens het anodedeel daarvan. Het brandstofgas wordt voorbereid door via een semipermeabele muur (5) te filtreren en de opbrengst van dit proces wordt verhoogd door vegend gas aan te wenden. Dit vegende gas verkregen=wordt= door het in vegende gaskring (2) te produceren Tijdens verrichting wordt enkele vegend gas onophoudelijk gelost en het verse vegende gas wordt onophoudelijk geproduceerd. Met deze regeling is het mogelijk om waterstof als brandstofgas te gebruiken. Het vegende gas wordt verkregen door lucht (8) in te spuiten en (9) de zuurstof te verbranden daarin bevat met waterstof. Het is ook mogelijk om een methanisationreactie uit te voeren die van waterstof als brandstofgas door Co/CO.sub.2 begint te verstrekken waarals resultaat van het vegende gas methaan is.
